Waiver-Eligibility

Waiver-Eligibility for Cosmic Journal of Chemistry

The Cosmic Journal of Chemistry is an open access journal, which means that all articles are freely available to read and download. However, the journal does charge authors a publication fee to cover the costs of managing and publishing their articles.

The journal offers a waiver program to help authors who are unable to afford the publication fee. To be eligible for a waiver, authors must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a member of a developing country, as defined by the World Bank.
  • Be a student or early-career researcher (within 5 years of receiving their PhD).
  • Be able to demonstrate that they have a genuine financial hardship.

To apply for a waiver, authors should submit a request to the journal editor, along with a copy of their accepted manuscript and a brief explanation of their financial situation. The editor will review all requests and make a decision on a case-by-case basis.

The journal also offers a number of other ways to help authors reduce the cost of publishing their articles, such as discounts for groups of authors and for articles that are published in special issues.

How to Apply for a Waiver

To apply for a waiver, authors should submit a request to the journal editor, along with the following:

  • A copy of their accepted manuscript
  • A brief explanation of their financial situation, including their country of residence, their employment status, and their income.

Authors should also provide any supporting documentation that they have, such as a copy of their student ID card or a letter from their employer stating that they are unable to afford the publication fee.

Waiver Decisions

The journal editor will review all waiver requests and make a decision on a case-by-case basis. Authors will be notified of the editor's decision within a few weeks of submitting their request.
