Archiving Policy

Archiving Policy for Cosmic Journal of Biology

The Cosmic Journal of Biology (CJB) is committed to preserving and disseminating its published content for future generations. To this end, the CJB has the following archiving policy:

  • All published content is archived in perpetuity. This includes articles, editorials, letters to the editor, and any other content published in the journal.
  • Content is archived in multiple formats. This includes the original PDF format, as well as XML and HTML formats. This ensures that content will be accessible even if one or more formats become obsolete.
  • Content is archived in multiple locations. The CJB archives its content on its own servers, as well as with third-party archiving services. This ensures that content will remain available even if the CJB's own servers are unavailable.

The CJB also makes its archived content available to the public through its website. This allows anyone to access and download the journal's content for free.

In addition to its own archiving policy, the CJB also participates in the following archiving initiatives:

  • Portico. Portico is a non-profit organization that preserves digital scholarly content. The CJB archives its content with Portico to ensure that it will be preserved for the long term.
  • CLOCKSS. CLOCKSS is a distributed archiving system that stores multiple copies of digital scholarly content at different institutions around the world. The CJB archives its content with CLOCKSS to ensure that it will be available even if one or more institutions experience a disaster.

The CJB is committed to preserving its published content for future generations. The journal's archiving policy ensures that content will be accessible and available to anyone who needs it.
