Waiver Eligibility

The Cosmic Journal of Biology (CJB) offers waivers to authors who cannot meet the journal's full publication fees. Waivers are available to authors from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), as well as to authors who are facing financial hardship due to other circumstances.

To be eligible for a waiver, authors must submit a request to the CJB editorial office. The request must include a statement explaining why the author is unable to meet the full publication fees, and supporting documentation, such as a letter from an employer or financial institution.

The CJB editorial office will review each waiver request on a case-by-case basis. Waivers are typically granted to authors who can demonstrate that they are unable to meet the full publication fees due to financial hardship.

Here are some examples of situations where an author might be eligible for a waiver:

  • The author is from an LMIC and does not have access to funding for research publication.
  • The author is facing financial hardship due to unemployment, illness, or other personal circumstances.
  • The author is a student who does not have access to funding for research publication.
  • The author is a member of a marginalized group that is disproportionately affected by poverty.

If you are unsure whether you are eligible for a waiver, you should contact the CJB editorial office.

Here are the steps to request a waiver for the Cosmic Journal of Biology:

  1. Go to the CJB website and click on the "Waiver Request" link.
  2. Fill out the waiver request form and submit it to the CJB editorial office.
  3. Include a statement explaining why you are unable to meet the full publication fees, and supporting documentation, such as a letter from an employer or financial institution.
