Plagiarism Policy for "COSMIC JOURNAL OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES"

COSMIC JOURNAL OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES (CJRS) is committed to publishing original research that makes a significant contribution to the field of religious studies. Plagiarism is a serious academic offense that undermines the integrity of scholarly discourse. In order to ensure the quality and originality of its published work, CJRS adheres to the following plagiarism policy:

Definition of plagiarism:

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work or ideas as one's own, without proper attribution. This includes copying directly from another source, as well as paraphrasing or summarizing someone else's work without giving credit. Plagiarism can be intentional or unintentional, but it is always considered to be academic misconduct.

CJRS plagiarism policy:

CJRS will not tolerate plagiarism in any form. All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using a variety of methods, including software and manual review. If any evidence of plagiarism is found, the manuscript will be rejected and the author may be banned from submitting future manuscripts to CJRS.

Authors' responsibilities:

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. This includes properly citing all sources used in the manuscript, and avoiding direct quotation or paraphrasing without proper attribution. Authors should also be aware of the different types of plagiarism, such as self-plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, and collage plagiarism.

Consequences of plagiarism:

If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarism, CJRS will take the following steps:

  1. The manuscript will be rejected.
  2. The author will be notified of the plagiarism and given an opportunity to respond.
  3. If the author's response is unsatisfactory, CJRS may ban the author from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.

Reporting plagiarism:

If you suspect that a manuscript submitted to CJRS contains plagiarism, you should report your concerns to the journal editor. The editor will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
