Waiver Eligibility

The Cosmic Journal of Languages (CJL) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes research on all aspects of language, including linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and computational linguistics. The journal is open access, meaning that all published articles are freely available to read and download.

The CJL offers a waiver program to authors who are unable to afford the publication fee of $1,000. To be eligible for a waiver, authors must:

  • Be a student (undergraduate or graduate) at a developing country university.
  • Be from a low- or middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank).
  • Be the first or corresponding author on the manuscript.
  • Submit a waiver request form along with their manuscript.

In addition to the above criteria, the CJL also considers the following factors when evaluating waiver requests:

  • The quality of the manuscript.
  • The author's financial need.
  • The author's potential to contribute to the field of language studies.

To request a waiver, authors should submit a waiver request form along with their manuscript to the CJL editorial office. The waiver request form can be downloaded from the CJL website.

If you are interested in publishing in the CJL and you believe you may be eligible for a waiver, please visit the CJL website for more information.
