Publication Ethics
The Cosmic Journal of Social Sciences (CJSS) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. All authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to these standards, which are based on the following principles:
- Honesty and integrity: All research and publication should be conducted and reported in an honest and ethical manner. This includes accurately reporting data, avoiding plagiarism, and disclosing any potential conflicts of interest.
- Transparency: All research and publication should be transparent and reproducible. This includes providing sufficient detail about methods and data analysis, and making data available whenever possible.
- Fairness and objectivity: All peer review and editorial decisions should be made fairly and objectively, without bias or prejudice.
The following are specific guidelines for authors, reviewers, and editors:
Authors:
- Submit original work: Authors should only submit original work that has not been published elsewhere. Any material that is not original, such as quotations or data from other sources, must be properly cited.
- Disclose conflicts of interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as financial ties to companies or organizations that could benefit from the publication of their research.
- Accurate reporting: Authors must accurately report their data and findings. Any errors or omissions should be corrected promptly.
- Respect for human subjects: Authors must conduct their research in a way that is respectful of human subjects. This includes obtaining informed consent and protecting the confidentiality of participants.
Reviewers:
- Fairness and objectivity: Reviewers must provide fair and objective assessments of manuscripts, without bias or prejudice. They should consider the scientific merit of the work, the clarity of the writing, and the significance of the findings.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must keep the contents of manuscripts confidential. They should not share any information about manuscripts with anyone other than the journal editors.
- Promptness: Reviewers should complete their reviews promptly, within the deadline set by the journal editors.
Editors:
- Fairness and objectivity: Editors must make all publication decisions fairly and objectively, without bias or prejudice. They should consider the scientific merit of manuscripts, the clarity of the writing, and the significance of the findings.
- Confidentiality: Editors must keep the contents of manuscripts confidential. They should not share any information about manuscripts with anyone other than the authors and reviewers.
- Promptness: Editors should make publication decisions promptly, after receiving the reviews and completing any necessary revisions.
The CJSS takes publication ethics very seriously. Any allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly. If misconduct is found to have occurred, the journal may take a variety of actions, including retracting the article, notifying the author's institution, and publishing a correction or editorial notice.
