Archiving Policy for Cosmic Journal of Social Sciences

The Cosmic Journal of Social Sciences is committed to the long-term preservation of its scholarly content. To this end, the journal has adopted the following archiving policy:

  • All published articles will be archived in perpetuity in the following repositories:
    • CLOCKSS (CLOCKSS Archive)
    • Portico (Portico Digital Preservation Service)
  • The journal will also maintain a backup copy of its archive on its own servers.
  • The journal will make its archive freely available to the public without restrictions.

Archiving Process

All published articles will be submitted to the CLOCKSS and Portico repositories within one month of publication. The journal will also maintain a backup copy of its archive on its own servers.

Access to the Archive

The journal's archive will be freely available to the public without restrictions. Users can access the archive through the journal's website or through the CLOCKSS and Portico websites.

Copyright

The copyright of all published articles remains with the authors. However, authors grant the journal the right to archive and distribute their articles in perpetuity.

Revisions to this Policy

The journal reserves the right to revise this archiving policy at any time. Any changes to the policy will be posted on the journal's website.

Additional Considerations

In addition to the above policy, the journal is also considering the following measures to ensure the long-term preservation of its archive:

  • Converting all articles to a sustainable format, such as XML or PDF/A.
  • Using a distributed archiving model, in which the archive is stored in multiple locations to reduce the risk of loss.
  • Working with other journals and organizations to develop and implement new archiving technologies.

The journal is committed to the long-term preservation of its scholarly content and will continue to explore new ways to ensure that its archive remains accessible to future generations.
