Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies

The Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies (JTFS) is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing and ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent the dissemination of high-quality research. To support authors who may face economic or institutional barriers, the journal offers a structured and transparent fee waiver and discount policy.

Waiver requests may be considered for authors who are affiliated with institutions in low-income or developing countries, early-career researchers, independent scholars, or researchers without adequate funding support. JTFS also considers waivers for postgraduate students, non-profit research organizations, and authors conducting research of significant social, cultural, or academic value in the fields of textiles, fashion, sustainability, and design.

Eligibility for a full or partial waiver is assessed on a case-by-case basis and is based solely on financial need and academic merit. The editorial evaluation of the manuscript is conducted independently from any waiver request to ensure that all submissions are judged purely on their scholarly quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Authors who wish to apply for a waiver must submit a formal request at the time of manuscript submission, providing clear and honest information regarding their financial situation, institutional support, or funding limitations. Providing false or misleading information may result in rejection of the request or withdrawal of the manuscript from consideration.

Approval of a waiver does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript. All articles, whether subject to a fee waiver or not, must pass the same rigorous peer review and editorial standards required by the Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies. The waiver policy exists solely to support accessibility, not to influence publication decisions.

JTFS reserves the right to limit the number of waivers granted per issue or per year in order to maintain the financial sustainability of the journal. The journal also reserves the right to revise this policy as needed while continuing to uphold its commitment to fairness, transparency, and academic inclusivity.

By submitting a waiver request, authors agree to comply with this policy and acknowledge that the final decision rests with the editorial office of the Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies.
