Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal Policy

Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies

The Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies (JTFS) upholds the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. Manuscript withdrawal is permitted only under clearly defined conditions to ensure fairness to authors, reviewers, and the editorial team, and to prevent misuse of the academic publishing process.

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before it enters the peer review process by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. If the manuscript has not yet been sent for review or editorial processing, the request will be evaluated, and withdrawal may be granted without penalty. Once a manuscript enters peer review, however, it is considered part of the journal’s formal editorial workflow and cannot be withdrawn freely.

If authors request withdrawal after the peer review process has begun, or after receiving reviewers’ comments, the request may be approved only under exceptional circumstances, such as serious errors in the manuscript, ethical concerns, or conflicts of interest that were not previously disclosed. In such cases, the authors must provide a detailed and valid justification for withdrawal.

Withdrawal is not permitted after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication or published online. At this stage, the article becomes part of the permanent scholarly record. Any serious concerns identified after publication will be addressed through corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and retraction guidelines.

Authors who withdraw a manuscript without valid justification after substantial editorial or peer review work has been completed may be subject to administrative or processing charges, and the journal reserves the right to restrict future submissions from such authors.

The Journal of Textile & Fashion Studies maintains this policy to protect the integrity of scholarly publishing and to ensure responsible conduct by all contributors. By submitting a manuscript to JTFS, authors agree to abide by this Withdrawal Policy and the journal’s broader ethical and editorial standards.
